On the face of it, today's work might not appear to be much but is a key part of proceedings. This was the first baseboard cover - these will be essential to protect the layout during tranist and storage. One issue is that the scenic boards don't all have square corners! This allows a gentle curve for the scenic section, but means care is need for the construction of the covers.
By the time the evening had finished, the first cover was just about complete, requiring only the top to be added. Subsequent covers shouldn't take as long, and will become essential as we move boards around as the layout progresses.

Hi How are you fitting the etches the Hoppers? i.e do you slot the axlebox sides for the etch to be a slide fit?
Can you help at all re end braked versions as I believe some of the parts are on the C+L etches
I have left same qustions on the RM Web thread
