One wagon which says 'North Eastern' has to be the 20T wooden hopper. It's one wagon which is key to Botanic Gardens, and it won't just be for coal traffic, but also chalk traffic from Hessle to Wilmington. There will be loaded and empty trains of both materials.

We are all building a number of these wagons, we're going to need quite a few of them! They will all be to a similar specification - Slaters kit as a base with Bill Bedford sprung 'W-irons' with the C&L etch to replicate the double axle guard pattern appropriate for out chosen era.
This is one of my hoppers -
Not in the best light, but the etched parts show up quite nicely. The next one is one of Chris' and is, I think, better than my first ones. The lead weights are certainly done with much greater care!

This last view shows how little room there is for the brake gear. We've found that gluing the brake gear to the sprung w-irons reinforces things nicely to allow for normal handling. Hopefully these wagons will mak up the first finished rake for the layout.
